Top 7 Most Delayed Games Ever

November 3rd, 2007 by supadupagama

Prey for PCDevelopment times vary from game to game. But which companies take the cake when it comes to the longest development cycles or most delayed games? This list even starts with a game that was over a decade in the making before being released, and it’s not even Duke Nukem Forever! Every game in the list has a link to its development history. Here it goes:

1. Prey (3D Realms, 1995 - 2006)
2. Duke Nukem Forever (3D Realms, 1997 - Present)
3. Team Fortress 2 (Valve, 1998 - 2007)
4. Too Human (Silicon Knights, 1999 - Present)
5. Galleon (Confounding Factor, 1997 - 2004)
6. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl (GSC Game World 2001 - 2007)
7. StarCraft: Ghost (Blizzard, 2002 - Present)

For more background on each game read CVG. But be afraid, very afraid of Prey, because 3D Realms has already announced Prey 2. Release date 2017?

Team Fortress 2 lag on Xbox Live will be fixed. Xbox 360 patch to arrive within days

October 16th, 2007 by supadupagama

Half-Life 2: The Orange Box for Xbox 360Xbox 360 gamers playing Team Fortress 2 online have been having lag issues since the game came out last week. Valve’s included the multiplayer game in their epic Half-Life 2: The Orange Box compilation, but overlooked some serious lag issues on Xbox Live. This issue isn’t a problem for PC gamers. Most complaints are from gamers attempting to participate in more competitive 6v6 or 8v8 matches, where “connection to host lost” messages pop up all the time or playing the game became impossible because of never ending lag.

The developer told 1UP they’ve already finished a title update and sent it to Microsoft. Unlike the PC world, patches are not immediate and fix has to go through Microsoft’s certification process. Valve expects the title update patch will arrive either sometime this weekend or early next week.

It’s all complete, it just needs to go through to Microsoft’s verification process. Hopefully it will make it out alive and well.
