July 21st, 2008 by Kabalyero

My castle, which is located in the Animate Me Poseballs sim, has three levels. The dungeon, the main area and the throne room. The throne room is like my personal space. the main area is where all my vendors and affiliate vendors are placed and the dungeon was once a place where I put freebies. […]

Contest Entry

November 27th, 2007 by Kabalyero

I wasn’t doing anything important this morning so I decided to give the VPRS Kiosk Kontest a try. Besides Camping and exploring, I am also an aspiring builder (we can dream right?) and this kind of contest is a great learning tool and a great way to exercise and develop some skills.

My idea for the Kiosk is to make it really simple and to use a maximum of only 5 prims. I already have a picture of the Kiosk in my mind so after putting together some basic shapes I was able to complete the frame of the kiosk. The next thing I did is create the textures. Using Photoshop and some Stock Photos, I was able to create the textures I needed for the kiosk, so, I logged back in and applied the textures I made to the kiosk. The end product looked like this:

Kiosk

The kiosk I made uses a log as base with wooden boards for the signs. Almost all of the textures are custom made except for the piece of wood that’s holding the big poster board.

Kiosk

It is only 5 prims and if you remove the big poster board then it will only be 3 prims.

Kiosk

The advantage of having a high prim build is that you can have more details, the disadvantage is that you’ll use more prims. With a low prim build, you can use textures to simulate the details you need. For my kiosk, I think I used 5 custom textures. 3 for the boards and 2 for the log.

Tekken movie poster surfaces and Onimusha movie coming?

November 1st, 2007 by astrotriforce

Tekken Movie Teaser PosterA Tekken movie has apparently been in production for over five years, with the first word on the project dating back to February of 2002!

Back then it was reported that production company Crystal Sky Pictures had secured the rights to the film for $60 million, although two years later it was reported that Dimension Films, a subsidiary of Miramax, had been tied to co-fund the and distribute the movie.

News of the movie since has been non-existent, although now Coming Soon is reporting that Sony Picture’s Screen Gems will now be distributing the movie (which I’d bet will also pop-up exclusively on a PS3 near you when it actually comes out) and the first teaser poster has been spotted.

The teaser poster simply shows a large, stone or metallic T structure rising up as well as the cryptic words:
After the Great Terror Wars, governments fell…
Seven corporations rose from the ashes to rule all men…
Together they were known as The Iron Fist…
The mightiest of which was…
Tekken

Sounds “meh” already! :P What I’m wondering is whether or not this is live-action or animated . . . but let’s hope it’s better than the Dead or Alive flick, or at least more true to it’s source material . . .

What is also very interesting is that, in the same story, Coming Soon reports that an Onimusha film is also in the works and will start shooting in April . . . No release date for either film has been announced yet.

Assassin’s Creed where?

This has to be the shoddiest game poster ever -- it's just packed with incorrect info. Sure, there's a DS version of Assassin's Creed coming, eventually, but is it out now? No. But what's worse, as well as being a horrible, horrible tease, is that the poster also declares a Wii version. We're sure that Ubisoft is as surprised as we are, since the Wii is ... what was it? Oh, yes, only for casual games, regardless of those hours you've put into games like Metroid Prime 3 and Super Mario Galaxy, and the future hours you'll pour into games like No More Heroes.

But who knows -- maybe this is a portent of things to come. We'll keep our ears to the ground just in case someone decides to attempt to port Assassin's Creed over. After all, we need more ports.
