Devil May Cry 4 is one of the most anticipated early 2008 action games, and the demo may be hitting soon.
The demo will clock in at 10 minutes and be a mish-mash of portions from the overall DMC4 story, including cut-up sections from Fortuna City and a piece from the ever-popular icy level that you can see in many of the screenshots from the game.
A boss character called Berial will also make an appearance in the demo.
Speculation had been running on the net though that the DMC4 demo would only be coming to the Xbox 360 marketplace in December, but Capcom has released a statement saying that is not the case. So we can expect it to hit for both 360 and PS3 (the Playstation Network) and according to the statement, we’ll have some news on the upcoming demo soon. — Via CVG
A new first Warhawk downloadable expansion pack titled “Operation: Omega Dawn” is coming to PlayStation Network this December. With it you get a brand new map and a new aircraft: the awesome KT-424 Combat Dropship.
Operation: Omega Dawn delivers a new gameplay experience that expands the title’s strategic gameplay elements by offering a new world to explore and introducing a unique aircraft to the Warhawk universe: the awesome KT-424 Combat Dropship.
With Operation: Omega Dawn, the war between the Eucadians and the Chernovans forces continues as the two countries fight to control the high-tech facilities of a critical new battlefield – the Omega Factory. The battle takes place in an entirely new world - an industrial night-time setting where players will fight through five new layouts of advanced building complexes and huge industrial towers. The new map supports all existing game modes – including Team Deathmatch, Zone Mode and Capture the Flag – and is the largest combat zone to date for Warhawk!
But that’s not all; no new battlefield would be complete without a new piece of kit, and Operation: Omega Dawn comes complete with a serious toy which will enhance the already intense Warhawk experience: the KT-424 Combat Dropship. You’ll activate the vehicle once you gain control of one of the many weapons factories on the world; once you have it, you’re in charge of an advanced aircraft capable of carrying seven soldiers and a ground vehicle at once. The KT-424 Combat Dropship transports 1 pilot, 6 soldiers and 1 ground vehicle; and features a deadly new weapon – the MBEC-3 Heavy Support Cannon. You’ll have loads of opportunity to take full advantage of the new KT-424 Combat Dropship because the new world is full of vertical gameplay which integrates ship decks, raised platforms, and factory rooftops accessible only by airborne deployment. Everyday Shooter was released this month to the Playstation 3 store as the newest addition to the PS3’s slowly growing library of original games, which includes titles like Fl0w, and big-name games like Warhawk and Tekken 5: Dark Resurrection Online as Sony attempts to compete with Microsoft and Xbox Live Arcade.
Everyday Shooter is a very unique game in that it is a conceptual album of abstract shooting games. Each level has a different song, with it’s own unique enemies and combo chaining rules. Further more, defeating an enemy explodes it into a new beat of the interactive soundtrack. A true audio and visual treat.
What you may not know is that the game was developed by one man, Jonathan Mak of his one-man studio Queasy Games). The game got renown at the Independent Games Festival in March where it earned awards for Design Innovation, Excellence in Audio, and a GameTap Indie Award. And now the game is available for the whole world to see and experience exclusively on the PS3.
In this interview with Jonathan Mak, he discusses how he got into making indie-games, his personal goals, the process of creating Everyday Shooter, his next game, why Everyday Shooter is art and more.
GameSpot (GS): What previous experience in the game industry do you have?
Jonathan Mak (JM): In the industry? I guess none. But I’ve been programming games on my own since about ‘97 or ‘98. And about two years ago, I was working for some guy as a game programmer on contract. I don’t know if that’s “in the industry.” Probably not, but I’ve never worked for a studio or whatever.
GS: Did you ever have that as a goal?
JM: When I was a kid, that’s when I was sort of disillusioned. Then I met a friend in university and he started showing me this whole indie scene I’d never seen before. And I thought, “Why would I want to work for a game company when I could be doing cool stuff like this?”
