Kabalyero in Problems with Heroes in the Sky? Here is How I Solved Mine!
March 21st, 2011 by KabalyeroRecently, I downloaded and installed a Free-To-Play MMO Flight Combat Simulation Game titled Heroes in the Sky. I came to know about it from one of gamigo’s e-mail newsletter where I was subscribed in. I signed-up for it because the game looked interesting and I’ve always wanted to play a Flight Combat Simulation Game again.

(Heroes in the SKy, Free-To-Play MMO Flight Combat Simulation Game)
It took me about 3 hours to download the game and just a few minutes to install it but it had to update itself to the latest version and that took another hour at least. When that was done, I clicked on the Start button to start the game but when the game loaded, the black game screen displayed a weird looking error message mostly made of ASCII characters.
Clicking on the Ok button of the error message will close the error message window but it will also make the game stop responding. The only way to get out of that predicament was to manually end the process.
After trying a few more times, I got frustrated and decided to uninstall the game. Don’t get me wrong, I uninstalled the game because I was thinking of re-installing it again to see if that fixes the weird looking error message that makes the game to stop responding. Unfortunately, I had to re-download the entire game again because I deleted the copy I downloaded earlier (to save or free-up space).
For the second time, I download and re-installed Heroes in the Sky but this time I had a better idea of how to fix the weird looking error message. By the way, the weird looking error message wasn’t the only problem I encountered with Heroes in the Sky, the game was also triggering my anti-virus program. Every time I run Heroes in the Sky my anti-virus program will pop-up a message asking me to either block it or allow it to continue running.
Solving the anti-virus program problem was easy. You can either allow Heroes in the Sky to run or you can disable your anti-virus program when you want to play Heroes in the Sky. Some anti-virus programs even has a filter where you can add Heroes in the Sky in the list of allowed programs.
The next problem is the weird looking error message that stops Heroes in the Sky from running. I was able to fix this problem by simply running Heroes in the Sky as an Administrator. I am using Windows 7 and, sometimes, some programs require you to run them as an Administrator for them to work properly. So, if your operating system is Windows 7 or even Vista and you are having the same error then try running Heroes in the Sky as an Administrator.
By letting my anti-virus program run Heroes in the Sky and by running the game as an Administrator, I was able to play Heroes in the Sky without any more problems. The game loaded and run successfully.
Below is a video of My First Time Through Heroes in the Sky Training Mission. I kinda crashed a few times in that video.
I played for a few hours and was able to reach Level 7. The game is actually fun and easy to play. The controls are easy to learn and it didn’t take me very long to get used to flying the plane. I’m sure many of you won’t have a hard time learning how to play Heroes in the Sky.

New Final Fantasy MMO or original Square Enix MMO coming?
November 28th, 2007 by supadupagama
Square Enix VP Hiromichi Tanaka was asked at the recent Final Fantasy XI Fan Festival, if they eventually plan on moving on from Final Fantasy XI, and developing a whole new Final Fantasy MMO? their answer was:
“As you might already know, members from the current Final Fantasy XI [PC, PS2, Xbox 360] team are working on a next generation MMO, but it still hasn’t been decided whether that’s going to be a game in the Final Fantasy series, a continuation, or a totally new game. We are working on it, but it hasn’t been decided that far yet.” — From Gamasutra, via Kotaku
First ever arrests in virtual property theft case in Habbo Hotel
November 22nd, 2007 by supadupagama
Six million people in over 30 countries play the 3D social networking website Habbo Hotel each month. Habbo users can create their own characters, decorate their own rooms and play a number of games, paying with Habbo Credits, which they have to buy with real money. It’s always been reported that “in Habbo, as in many other virtual worlds, scamming for other people’s personal information such as user names has been problematic for quite a while.”
Last week a Dutch teenager was arrested by police for stealing virtual furniture from rooms in Habbo Hotel. The 17-year-old is accused of stealing €4,000 ($5,936 / £2,875) worth of virtual furniture, bought with real money. Five 15-year-olds have also been questioned by police, who were contacted by the website’s owners. The six teenagers are suspected of moving the stolen furniture into their own Habbo rooms.
A representative from the Amsterdam police department said: “We are trying to bring charges of theft. It is a little difficult and new. There has not yet been a judgment in a case like this. The furniture may not be physical objects but because it represents a certain value we think theft is involved.”
A spokesman for Sulake, the company that operates Habbo Hotel, said: “The accused lured victims into handing over their Habbo passwords by creating fake Habbo websites. We have had much of this scamming going on in many countries but this is the first case where the police have taken legal action. It is a theft because the furniture is paid for with real money. But the only way to be a thief in Habbo is to get people’s usernames and passwords and then log in and take the furniture. We got involved because of an increasing number of sites which are pretending to be Habbo. People might then try and log in and get their details stolen.”
Let’s hope this is the first of many cases where scammers get busted and jailed, so that this crime of virtual property theft can be outcast or at least prosecuted more easily in worldwide courts of law.
The following “Habbo Hotel Safety Movie” was made by Habbo’s who got scammed and wanted to warn others how to prevent it from happening.
A simpler way to put it would be: Don’t ever give anyone your password! Or private information for that matter, and only trust the official website you typed out into your browser window.
World of Warcraft patch 2.3 adds guild banks, faster leveling, and the Gods of Zul’Aman
November 14th, 2007 by supadupagama
The latest World of Warcraft Patch 2.3.0 has been released for download by Blizzard. This is the most recent patch for World of Warcraft updating the popular MMORPG from version 2.2.3 to version 2.3. This includes a new 10-person raid Zul’Aman picking up where Karazhan leaves off, guild banks, faster leveling, and more as described here…
The Gods of Zul’Aman
The stronghold of Zul’Aman has stood for millennia as the Amani trolls’ seat of power and bastion of the fearless, cunning warlord Zul’jin.
Zul’jin has spent several years plotting behind Zul’Aman’s walls. Furious at the Horde for allowing his hated enemies, the blood elves, to join its ranks, he eagerly embraced a scheme that the witch doctor Malacrass recently proposed: to seal the power of the animal gods within the bodies of the Amani’s strongest warriors.
Now Zul’Aman’s army grows more powerful by the day, hungry to exact vengeance in the name of its fearless leader, Zul’jin.
Guild Banks Introduced
The Guild Bank is a shared repository for an entire guild and will be accessible through Guild Vault objects near existing banks. The Guild Bank will allow players with the appropriate permissions to store items and money for use by the rest of the guild. Permissions to withdraw and deposit money and items are controlled by the guild leader through the guild controls menu. The Guild Bank is divided up into separate tabs so that the guild leader may restrict access or group items into distinct categories.
- Up to 6 purchasable tabs each containing 98 item slots
- Permissions to view/deposit/withdraw per tab
- You may use your Guild Bank withdraw limits to pay for item repairs
(now enabled on all merchants)
- Transaction logs of the last 25 actions within each tab, as well as
money activity.
Dustwallow Marsh
Dustwallow Marsh has seen many improvements with the addition of over 50 new quests and a new neutral goblin town called Mudsprocket located in the southern part of the zone. There is also a small quest hub featuring a crashed goblin zeppelin, to the east of Tabetha’s hut.
You can read the other details of Patch 2.3.0 below.

Hullbreach manages to snag a few users
November 7th, 2007 by David HinkleWhile we haven't played it ourselves (darn this blogging), we love to hear about this kind of stuff. Ambition projects are few and far between, it seems, so we look forward to December. Why? Well, that's when the final release hits, which will have NPC interaction, asteroid mining and player-to-player bartering.
Has anyone given this a try? Are you finding it to your liking? Or, is it a waste of time?

Lucasarts and Bioware developing “Ground-Breaking” game
October 30th, 2007 by supadupagama
LucasArts and BioWare today announced that they have entered into an agreement to create an interactive entertainment product. Us gamers call this thing a “game” and you’re out of luck if you were hoping for some details, because none were given, except that it will be “Ground-Breaking” and “will push the boundaries of the gaming market by utilizing the strengths of both companies to deliver an innovative, high-quality experience.” In other words Bioware will be developing and Lucasarts publishing and likely (our guess) providing them with an IP (Intellectual Property) they own.
“LucasArts has a deep commitment to developing compelling stories and characters for the unique medium of interactive entertainment, and we have been searching for a developer that shares this value. We found this in BioWare,” said Jim Ward, president of LucasArts. “Through our previous collaborations, we know that BioWare has an impressive ability to blend gripping stories with technological advancements, and we believe that our upcoming product will deliver an experience that will span the traditional boundaries of video game entertainment.”
“BioWare’s mission is to deliver the best story and character-driven games in the world, delivering powerful emotional experiences to our fans.” said Ray Muzyka, chief executive officer, BioWare Corp. Added Greg Zeschuk, president of BioWare Corp., “The collaboration with LucasArts allows us to combine our passion for creating high quality and innovative experiences with those of a company dedicated to bringing only the finest games to market.
Bet you didn’t expect to hear a new game announcement so soon after the take-over of Bioware by Electronic Arts. I wonder what Lucasarts franchise they might use, maybe a Star Wars MMOG (Massive Multiplayer Online Game) or Monkey Island adventure-RPG?
