Have you always been curious how much noise your console is really making, or which of the three consoles is the loudest or quietest? A Finnish magazine has made a comparison of the PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and Wii consoles, and showed how loud the systems are depending on what they are doing.
Overview ordered from quiet to loud decibels by system:
Wii:
32,3dB — Playing games
22,9dB — Doing nothing
PlayStation 3:
28,7dB — Blu-Ray-movie
35,8dB — DVD-movie
35,8dB — Playing games
23,5dB — Doing nothing
Xbox 360:

Assassin’s Creed is finally out to impress gamers everywhere. Like many third-party titles lately, the game is available for either the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3.
Both systems are very powerful although Sony has trumped up the fact that the PS3 is the most powerful as far as raw horse-power is concerned.
But how does that translate to the actual games themselves? Find out in this video comparison of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Assassin’s Creed.
It’s obvious to tell that the Xbox 360 version CLEARLY (pun not intended) looks better. The PS3 version has a “washed out” look to it, although I suppose it can come down to personal preference, but the clarity of the Xbox 360 version makes it seem more detailed than the PS3 version. Very interesting indeed.
While PC gamers can adjust their graphics power in the game. Let’s compare the two standardized console versions of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360: Scene for scene, screen for screen. Can you spot a difference?
Let’s hope this settles “my console is better than yours” debate, because they look equal. Just enjoy the game, it’s getting A and A+ ratings all over the board.
So what does the latest multiplatform basketball game look like on both 360 & PS3? Uhhh . . . just about identical! Another comparison video has surfaced showing NBA 2K8 split-screen, side-by-side running on both the Xbox 360 and the PS3. Like the last Madden NFL 08 Xbox 360 vs PS3 comparison, you will be hard-pressed to find any kind of significant graphical difference between the two platforms.
This somewhat surprises me given how much Sony has hyped how much more powerful the Playstation 3 is over the Xbox 360. Granted these games were built to be multiplatform. But it’s an interesting point to make none-the-less.
This video is making its way around the internets, showing some of the similarities between Super Mario Galaxy and the GameCube's Super Mario Sunshine. We really never realized how similar the two were, but that doesn't mean there aren't a lot of differences as well.
Where do you think Galaxy separates itself most from Sunshine? Is it the gameplay, perhaps the music, or something else? Or do you think that they're just too alike for their own good?
