The Making of Call of Duty 4

November 3rd, 2007 by supadupagama

Pre-Order Call of Duty 4 on PCWar rages on in the fourth edition of Activision’s acclaimed war game. For the first time in the series, Call of Duty moves away from WWII to the modern battlefield. Armed with an arsenal of advanced and powerful modern day firepower, players are transported to treacherous hotspots around the globe to take on a rogue enemy group threatening the world. As both a U.S Marine and British S.A.S. soldier fighting through an unfolding story full of twists and turns, players use sophisticated technology, superior firepower and coordinated land and air strikes on a battlefield where speed, accuracy and communication are essential to victory. The epic title also delivers an added depth of multiplayer action providing online fans an all-new community of persistence, addictive and customizable gameplay.

Get a behind the scenes look at how Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare as developer Infinity Ward shows the engine and its ability to change lighting and post FX on the fly.

The second parts shows how they create a level (Overgrown) in the PC, Xbox 360 & PS3 first-person shooter game.

Call of Duty 4 victim of super short single-player mode?

October 28th, 2007 by astrotriforce

Pre-Order Call of Duty 4 on PCThe release date of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare is fast approaching. The game comes out on November 5th in the United States and four days later on November 9th in Europe. It will be available for PC, Xbox 360 and PS3.

From all we’ve seen so far, the game looks to be one of the most impressive, at least graphically, of all time. And while the game will likely have an awesome multiplayer mode . . . . early reviews of the modern-day first-person shooter point to a short single-player campaign as it’s major downfall.

How short is “short” you ask? According to one review from OXM UK, we’re talking about 5 to 6 hours on Normal, so while the action-packed single-player is praised, how fast it’s over is a major bummer.

So, if true, will this effect whether you purchase the game or not?
