Assassin’s Creed 2 certain now that Assassin’s Creed sold over 1 million

November 21st, 2007 by supadupagama

Assassin's Creed for Xbox 360French games publisher Ubisoft tells in their fiscal 2007-2008 first half financial report about the latest earnings. Assassin’s Creed on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 has sales that have already topped the record level of 1 million units!

Talking about the success of Assassin’s Creed, the company said this is “a positive sign that the brand will be successful and that Ubisoft has created another long-term franchise.” Good news for the fans waiting to see how the story will unfold further in Assassin’s Creed 2.

Ubisoft as a whole has been doing great, with total sales climbing 51.80% (to €261 million / $387 million) over last year’s sales. Their net income rose 11.7% to €30.6 million / $45 million. These sales were driven by Rayman Raving Rabbids 2, Naruto: Rise of a Ninja, Beowulf and a number of casual games such as titles from the Imagine, Petz and MyCoach brands.

By the way, if you have the choice between the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions of Assassin’s Creed. Go for the Xbox 360 version, which fans say is more stable, since the PS3 version has had lots more complaints about it freezing up on players mid-game or during loading screens. Let’s hope those memory issues get sorted in the sequel (or they release a patch for this game to fix it).

Find out why the game is badass, watch this trailer:

As you can see it’s not for the faint of heart.

Assassin’s Creed Xbox 360 vs PS3 video comparison. Which do you think looks better?

November 19th, 2007 by astrotriforce

Assassin's Creed for Xbox 360Assassin’s Creed is finally out to impress gamers everywhere. Like many third-party titles lately, the game is available for either the Xbox 360 or the Playstation 3.

Both systems are very powerful although Sony has trumped up the fact that the PS3 is the most powerful as far as raw horse-power is concerned.

But how does that translate to the actual games themselves? Find out in this video comparison of the PS3 and Xbox 360 versions of Assassin’s Creed.

It’s obvious to tell that the Xbox 360 version CLEARLY (pun not intended) looks better. The PS3 version has a “washed out” look to it, although I suppose it can come down to personal preference, but the clarity of the Xbox 360 version makes it seem more detailed than the PS3 version. Very interesting indeed.

Assassin’s Creed delayed a week in Australia and New Zealand

November 13th, 2007 by astrotriforce

Assassin's Creed - Collector's Edition for Xbox 360The Australia & New Zealand release of Assassin’s Creed is delayed by one week, meaning it’ll ship on Wednesday, November 21st.

The delay is “due to manufacturing and freight difficulties during this time of year, Ubisoft Australia & New Zealand were unable to receive their full allocation of Assassins Creed stock required to fulfill all Day One orders,” publisher Ubisoft said in a statement. “In an effort to treat all retailers and consumers fairly, Ubisoft will wait until the balance of stock is received in our warehouse before we ship the game.” This delay has not effected any other release dates for the game, and you can pick up Assassin’s Creed in North American stores today for Xbox 360 and PS3.

So far Assassin’s Creed has received excellent reviews across the board which is great news. For those poor souls in Australia and New Zealand though who have to wait a bit before they can get their hands on the game, this beautiful new launch trailer is for you.

In case you missed any of them, check out the awesome making-of Assassin’s Creed videos.
